This is particularly important information for those who heat their homes or workplaces with this fuel. Cheap, untested gas often leads to reduced efficiency in our heating systems and can even damage them. That is why reputable suppliers always invest in testing their fuel, enabling them to provide customers with high-quality service. To ensure this, they take several samples from the storage tank and send them to specialized, accredited laboratories for analysis.
On site, under the close supervision of scientists, the samples are analyzed for their composition, including substances that, in large quantities, can be harmful to heating systems, as well as for contaminants that can reduce thermal efficiency, which would force us to purchase more fuel than we actually need. Finally, a certificate is issued, and the distributor receives a report on the inspection, which the customer can always request.
Uncontaminated source for heating
Certified gas will be slightly more expensive than untested gas, but compared to the costs that contaminated raw material could expose us to, it’s worth investing in quality from the start.
By the way, it’s always worth checking whether the gas being filled into our tank is technical propane or a mixture, i.e., propane-butane. Propane retains its properties (it evaporates) even at very low temperatures (down to -40°C). A propane tank can therefore be safely installed above ground and will serve us throughout the winter. The situation is different, however, with a propane-butane mixture. In the case of butane, this limit is much lower, at -0.5°C, which means that during freezing temperatures, the gas in the tank will remain in liquid form, making it unusable in heating systems. This, in turn, could even lead to a furnace failure and costly repairs, not just a cold bedroom or living room.
Key benefits of using a system leased from our company:
- High-quality gas and cost-effectiveness compared to electricity
- Free service and a 24-hour emergency hotline with on-site response
- Extended service life of radiators and burners
- Consistent and timely deliveries
- Thanks to leak and weight checks during the filling process, we guarantee that every cylinder leaving the AmeriGas filling plant is safe and contains the correct amount of gas
